On May 18, 2010, a open house was held for members of the public to hear more about the new Highway 1/Cape Horn Interchange, which is currently under construction as part of the Port Mann/Highway 1 (PMH1) Improvement Project.

Colony Farm Tidal Flow Restoration and Habitat Enhancement Project - Open House
The Colony Farm Tidal Flow Restoration and Habitat Enhancement Project is part of the Port Mann/Highway 1 (PMH1) Improvement Project and the work includes habitat and water management improvements at Wilson Farm, and area within Colony Farm Regional Park. There has been extensive consultation over a two-year period, which provided important input that has been used to refine the proposed design for tidal flow restoration and habitat improvements at Wilson Farm. Consultation for this project started in March 2008 and has included multiple stakeholder groups as well as the public. The following is a report with a summary of the consultation process, design refinements and feedback and the related Appendices.

Birdland/Guildford (including Robin Crescent, Pheasant Drive, Hummingbird Place, Flamingo Place and 152 Street to 108 Avenue) - Local Area Consultation
From March 24, 2010 to March 31, 2010, a local area consultation will be held for Birdland/Guildford residents along Highway 1 in Surrey. The purpose is to provide local residents with current information about PMH1 Improvements and to consult on design features such as noise walls and finishing options. Local area consultation for other sections of the highway will be undertaken as the project progresses. Notices will be posted to this website and mailed to local area residents and businesses as appropriate.
Update: April 1, 2010 - The Birdland/Guildford local area consultation is now closed. A consultation summary report and input considerations memo will be provided to the attendees and posted to the website when it becomes available.

The purpose is to provide local area residents with current information about PMH1 Improvements and to consult on design features such as noise walls, berms and landscaping options. Local area consultation for other sections of the highway will be undertaken as the project progresses. Notices will be posted to this website and mailed to local area residents and businesses as appropriate.

Pre-Design Consultation Materials Archive
Since 2003, the Gateway Program (PMH1 Project) has engaged in extensive public, stakeholder and municipal consultation. Consultation for the PMH1 Project has taken place in various settings; including one-on-one and small group meetings, open houses, committees and working groups, as well as feedback components on the project website. Consultation results, along with technical and financial analyses, provided important input to project scope and design.
